Today Tonight’s Matt White’s alright
Yeah, yeah. Today Tonight is trash TV at its worst but Mook can’t stop watching.
So it’d be remiss not to comment on how new host Matt White is settling into the hosting gig. Mook’s verdict? He’s alright.
After some initial confusion by White as to whether he was now Matt or Matthew White (he signed off occasionally as “Matthew” when he’s been rebranded as the more everyman “Matt” since taking the TT job), he’s settled in well. Professional, composed but just a little bit bland.
Is it just Mook who misses the amazing adventures of Naomi Robson (Wa-Wa and Lizardgate) and Anna Coren’s at times meaningless gibberish before and after the latest report on dodgy real estate scams, high petrol prices and dole bludgers?
If Matthew/Matt White doesn’t lift his game in the crazy stakes soon Mook may stop watching TT since the actual stories are the same old same old repeated again and again.
A Current Affair is not an option. If Tracy Grimshaw is rather reluctantly hosting ACA, as mentioned in The Australian last month why should anyone bother watching until she quits?
